At Hamble Point Yacht Charters, we’ve got a fleet of gorgeous sailing and motor yachts ready for your Easter adventure. We’re based on the scenic Hamble Point Peninsula, a perfect spot to set sail and start your journey along the Solent. And don’t worry if you’ve never sailed before—our experienced and friendly skippers are here to help you every step of the way, ensuring you have a safe, fun, and unforgettable time.
As a family-run, independent company, we pride ourselves on making every charter a personal experience. We welcome families (and even pets!) on board, so everyone can enjoy the fun. Here are just a few of the must-see spots you can visit while cruising along the Solent:
Cowes, Isle of Wight – Step into a world of maritime history and charm. Cowes is known for its elegant vibe, beautiful waterfront, and of course, the sailing scene. Explore the shops, grab a bite at a local café, or just enjoy the view of yachts sailing by. Plus, Osborne House, Queen Victoria’s former residence, is just a short sail away, where you can soak in the stunning architecture and gardens.
Buckler’s Hard – A hidden gem on the Beaulieu River, this 18th-century village is perfect for a leisurely stop. Wander around the old streets, visit the museum, and get a glimpse of what life was like centuries ago. It’s also home to a beautiful marina where you can take in the views and watch the boats go by.
Poole Harbour – One of the largest natural harbours in the world, Poole is the perfect place to spend a day. With its award-winning beaches, clear waters, and charming town, it’s a fantastic spot to explore on foot or by boat. You can even venture out to Brownsea Island, a nature reserve with wild red squirrels, or enjoy the amazing views of the Jurassic Coast.
Lymington Harbour – A picturesque coastal town with a rich history, Lymington is known for its quaint streets and lively market. You can explore the nearby Keyhaven Marshes and Nature Reserve, a great place for birdwatching or a peaceful walk surrounded by nature. The views of the Solent are just stunning here, so don’t forget your camera!
Gunwharf Quays Marina – A vibrant spot for shopping, dining, and culture, Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth is also home to the famous Historic Dockyard, where you can step aboard legendary ships like HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, and the Mary Rose. It’s a great mix of history and modern life, with plenty to see and do, from shopping to waterfront dining.

We had a great charter of the yacht Appaloosa from HPYC. The boat was very clean when we boarded her, and was ready for us to board at the agreed time. The staff were very helpful and helped us straight away with any queries.....and my security deposit return was confirmed very quickly. I will definitely consider chartering from HPYC again!

Charted a Bavaria 36 for a weekend trip. Last minute booking and super impressed with how we managed to sort thing out so quickly and easily after just a couple of e-mails and phone calls. Arrived late Friday after office was closed but check in pack had been left for us to pick up and overnight onboard. Boat very nicely kitted out and left Sat morning to ride Westerly tide to Lymington. Great local knowledge given during the morning walk through about where to moor and get dinner. Nice sail back on Sunday. Weather turned foul but she handled really well under full sail. Everyone on board enjoyed themselves and it's exactly what I'd hoped for from the weekend. This was first time sailing from Hamble and it's a great location to get quickly into the Solent. Definitely will be back once weather warms up and days get longer to try some longer trips. This is truly a 5 * service. The team really looked after us both ashore on arrival and also while at sea. We were a relatively inexperienced crew but always felt the team ashore had our backs. Thoroughly recommended.

We had a fabulous four days. Marina is ideally placed for the Solent, boat was in great condition, well equipped and a joy to sail. We were well briefed and the shore side team including the dog very friendly.

We charted one of the sailing yachts for a fantastic weekend cruise in the Solent. The boat was in superb condition and well equipped, the staff was very helpful explaining how things work on the yacht and there was also a video available with all the important information. 10/10 would recommend!

Had a fantastic week chartering Blue Otter, Alex was incredibly helpful and sent loads of information and date checking prior to booking. There was a handover video and both the handover and return were really smooth. The boat was lovely and well maintained and Lee was really helpful in recommending places to visit (and helping identify the steering issue as an autopilot takeover - doh!). Definitely will be back and would fully recommend!

We had a great time sailing with Lee for a few days at the beginning of September. Hamble Point Yacht Charters supplied us an impeccable 45 ft Hanse yacht, which was handled with complete mastery by Captain Lee. This was the first time we had tried chartering and as experienced racing sailors we didn't know what to expect. Covid has closed down all our events this year so this was a chance to get afloat at least once in 2020.
